Paste the admin key from config.php once, pick your email and a password, and from then on you sign in like a normal website. The key keeps working as an emergency back door.

Workflows

Guest journey
  1. Scans the QR code on the wall sign — it opens the guest page carrying the sign’s key.
  2. Taps “I don’t have a code”, enters first name and email.
  3. A 6-digit code arrives by styled email (one code per email address; it keeps working for the stay).
  4. Enters the code — the thermostat screen unlocks: live dial, Warmer / Cooler, °F toggle.
  5. Every press is limited by your thresholds: min/max band, step, cooldown, daily cap. You get an email per change if enabled.
  6. Codes expire after the validity period in Settings; an expired code sends them back to the gate.
Outsider (no QR)
Types the bare web address: sees code entry only. Asking for a code is a dead end — the request form needs the sign’s key, so bots and strangers can’t get one.
Administrator
Signs in with email + password. Runs the day-to-day: thermostat, user codes, settings, photo, wall sign, activity log. Cannot manage users or update production.
Owner (you)
Everything the administrator has, plus the Admin Users card (add, reset, remove) and Update production: check for changes, pick a version, deploy, roll back.
Wall sign
Printed from the sign page with the live QR key baked in. Regenerating the key invalidates every previously printed sign — reprint after regenerating.

Admin Users

Administrators can run everything on this page except Admin Users and Update production. Give them the password yourself — they can change it after signing in.
You signed in with Face ID / Touch ID, so you can leave “Current password” blank for the next 10 minutes.
Sign-in security
Face ID sign-in
Sign in with your face or fingerprint instead of typing a password. Set it up once on each device. On an iPhone, iPad or Mac it syncs through iCloud Keychain, so setting it up on one usually covers the others.
Authenticator app
Adds a 6-digit code after your password. Works with Google Authenticator, Apple Passwords, 1Password or LastPass. Not needed when you sign in with Face ID / Touch ID.
1. On this iPhone: tap Add to my authenticator app.
On another device: scan this code with the app.
Can’t scan? Type this key:

          One-time hookup so the server can read your working folder from Dropbox
          (your folder already syncs there every time you save).


          1. Open dropbox.com/developers/apps → Create app → choose Scoped access and Full Dropbox, name it anything (e.g. "thermostat-updater").

          2. On the app's Permissions tab tick files.metadata.read, files.content.read and files.content.write (that last one lets it save backups into Code/Backup), then Submit.
